Down Syndrome Awareness Month

So, I just discovered that October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month! And following suit with a new friend of a baby with Down Syndrome, I have decided to take on a challenge called "31 for 21." This means I will (try to) blog about Jack everyday for the month of October! Wish me luck!

So, Jack officially turned 4 months old on September 28! (I also need to make a shout our to our neice, Reid, who turned 10 months old on Tuesday, and our nephew, Levi, who turned a whopping 1 year old today!!!! Happy Birthday, little man!)

We had Jack's 4-month well child check-up today, and despite having a bit a of a cold the past few days, he's doing so great! He weighed in at 13 pounds, 13 ounces and was 24 inches long! Almost 14 pounds ... amazing that he's doubled his birth weight already! Dr. Lowe said that he is doing fantastically and hitting all his milestones (even some earlier than "typical" children!).

We also had a home visit today from Lisa Shoffner of the Family Support Network and Jane Glynn, our CDSA service coordinator, and they were also very impressed with our baby boy's skills! He rocked his tummy time with his new boom box (thanks again, aunt Kelly!) and wowed them with how alert and vocal he is. We start PT with a very renowned Pediatric Physical Therapist here in town on Monday, so hopefully we'll take care of Jack's slight head tilt in no time!

If this kid stays on the same track he's been on since birth, he'll be unstoppable!!!! Watch out, world! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, because they're working!!!!
